The workshop will take place at the facilities of SUPSI-DTI located in Galleria 2, Manno, Switzerland. The event will be celebrated at the “Sala Anfiteatro” located in the ground floor near the north entrance (“Entrata Nord”) of SUPSI-DTI Building. Manno is situated near Lugano, Switzerland, which is one of the most important cities of southern Switzerland. It takes around 15 minutes to reach SUPSI facilities at Manno from Lugano city center.

About Lugano



Lugano is located in the south of Switzerland in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino which borders Italy. Lugano lies at the edge of Lake Lugano, which is situated between the lakes Lago Maggiore and Lago di Como, south of the Alps.
The city is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Switzerland. Both Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains provide a wide variety of outdoor activities. Lugano is, also, home to a number of historic buildings and museums.

How to reach Lugano

From people outside Switzerland we recommend reaching Lugano through the Milan (Malpensa Airport or Linate Airport) or surrounding area airports ( Orio Al Serio Airport). Lugano has a small airport but not many airlines fly to it. It takes about 1.5 hour to reach Lugano by bus/train from Milan airports.

Arriving to Milan-Malpensa Airport:
If you arrive here take the Shuttle Bus from Milan-Malpensa Airport to Lugano.
 This Airport is at 48 km from the centre of Milan and at 60 km from Lugano (Switzerland). Some low-cost airlines that arrive here are clickair, easyjet, flybe, vueling among others. For more information about all airlines that arrive to Milan-Malpensa Airport please click here.

Malpensa Airport is also served daily by a Shuttle Bus to Lugano.
You have to make an online reservations and you can buy the bus ticket directly from the driver.

Arriving to Milan-Linate Airport:
If you arrive here first take the Shuttle Bus from Milan-Linate Airport to Milano Stazione Centrale (Central Railway Station in Milan) and then take the train to Lugano.


This airport  is only 7 kilometres far from the centre of Milan. Easyjet (a low-cost airline) arrives here. For more information about the airlines that arrive to Milan-Linate Airport please click here.

Remarks: The bus also stops at Lambrate.

Arriving to Milan (Bergamo)-Orio Al Serio Airport  
If you arrive here take the Shuttle Bus from Bergamo-Orio Al Serio Airport to Bergamo Stazione ( Bergamo Railway Station) and then take the train to Lugano.

Several low-cost arilines fly here (e.g. Ryanair). If you arrive to this airport you will have to take the bus to Bergamo (15 min) and then take the train to Lugano (1h30min). From Lugano to the Workshop Venue



By bus:

There is only one bus line that takes you from Lugano to SUPSI-Manno:
The "Lugano-Bioggio-Lamone" bus line. Bus number 445.

We recommend to take this bus from either one of these two bus stops at Lugano: "Lugano Autosilo Balestra" or  "Lugano Stazione Piazza Besso". You should get off at the "Manno, La Monda" bus stop, which is also indicated in the map below.
